On April 5^th, our institute hosted a unique Greek Doctoral Congress, blending the rich heritage of Greek mythology with cutting-edge scientific research. This event showcased the work of our doctoral students against the backdrop of the historical theme. The congress featured thorough scientific dialogue and interdisciplinary collaboration, reflecting the breadth of topics being researched at the Institute of Biogeochemistry and Pollutant Dynamics.

With the start of the new semester, we return to the IBP Seminar series. From February 23^rd until May 17^th, we have four interesting seminars covering a wide range of topics. Join us on Fridays from 12:30 to 13:30 in CHN P 12 or online via Zoom. You are welcome to have lunch during the seminar. Coffee and tea is served, please bring your own cup. We are looking forward to seeing many of you and having interesting discussions!

The upcoming IBP Fall Seminar Series will start Friday September 29^th with a great line-up of speakers! For this seminar series, the 5 seminars will take place both in CHN P 12 and online via Zoom, on Fridays from 12:30 to 13:30 (note one exception). You are welcome to have lunch during the seminar. We are delighted to introduce Marie Schoelmerich as our new Assistant Professor of Environmental Microbiology.

On the 14th of April 2023, the 15th IBP PhD Congress under the motto "Unlocking the Secrets of Elements" was held at Eawag in Dübendorf. At this annual event, PhD students from the Institute of Biogeochemistry and Pollutant Dynamics (IBP) at ETH Zurich have the opportunity to present their research results with a poster or a talk.

After a successful fall series, the IBP seminar will continue in the spring semester every second Friday, 12:30-13:30 in CHN P12 or via Zoom. The first talk will be on March 3rd by Luca Carraro (Eawag). We're looking forward to inspiring presentations and discussions!
