previously a post-doctoral researcher at the European Marie Curie research network AquaTRAIN, has been appointed by the ETH Board at its meeting of 18 and 19 May 2011 as Assistant Professor of Inorganic Environmental Geochemistry. Lenny Winkel developed two- and three-dimensional models for the prediction of arsenic pollution in aquifers at a regional to global scale on the basis of georeferenced geological data and ground properties. Her research is focused on the environmental behaviour of trace elements such as arsenic and selenium.
